Man charged after allegedly pulling gun in parked car dispute

An Illinois man was taken into custody after he was accused of point a gun at another man's head. The incident occurred after the other man apparently parked in the accused man's parking place.

Sheriff's deputies reported that they received a 911 call from a 44-year-old man who claimed that the accused man put a gun to his head. He said he was able to get away from the accused man and went to the home of another resident. He also said that he would have moved his car out of the parking spot if asked to do so; however, he alleged that the other man blocked him in and made it difficult to escape.

The accused 45-year-old man denied having the gun, saying that he just made the shape of a gun with his fingers. Authorities reportedly found a gun after he gave them person to search him. In addition to the gun, several different types of drug residue and a scale was found inside a safe. He was ultimately charged with alleged possession of a weapon by a felon, possession with intent to deliver cannabis, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine and aggravated assault with a firearm.

People who are accused of drug-related crimes could face a variety of consequences if a conviction is obtained. If they are facing weapons charges in addition to drug charges, the legal consequences can be even more severe. A criminal law attorney may review the case to create a strong defense strategy that could include questioning whether probably cause existed to conduct the search that led to the seizure of the drugs.
